From a prototype defined as “visionary”, we can’t expect to be anything but surprised: and now BMW is presenting its studio-concept, the GINA Light Visionary Model, a softer car capable of changing its aspect according to the driver’s taste. The radical innovation is aimed at the formation of the bodywork.
The technical explanation is quite simple: an elasticised material covers a flexible metal mesh, that can be moved by an electro-hydraulic device. Apart from making a splash, it’s difficult to admire this car as a real manufacturing possibility: but the fall-out could possibly be some new design ideas. Perhaps some stylistic elements might anticipate the look of the new Z4, expected soon.
