The restyling of the Porsche 997 Carrera and Carrera S coupè and cabrio has come to light, but is limited to some adjustments to the front with more sporty air vents and rear LED lights with an angular design. Indicator lights are slightly smaller, placed immediately above brake and radiator vents and now including LED as well.

Under the bonnet the modifications are more consistent: direct injection makes its debut with DFI fuel increasing power while reducing consumption. New PDK double-clutch, seven-speed transmission appears while the Carrera with its six-cylinder Boxer at 3600cc gains 20hp, hitting 345. Together with the PDK it has an average consumption of 9.8 litres per 100km, a maximum speed of 289km/hr and can sprint to 100km/hr in 4.9 seconds.

The S version at 3800cc benefits from a 30hp boost to a total of 385, reaching 302km/hr of maximum speed and covering 0-100km/hr in 4.7 seconds, with six-speed manual transmission and consumption of 10.6 litres per 100km. Equipped with the PDK, acceleration is reduced to 4.5 seconds. The Sport Chrono plus package, including launch control, shaves off an extra 0.2 seconds. Both cars see emissions drop by 15 percent compared to the previous range.

The new 997 Carrera, available from July 5, has a starting price of 69,600 euro for the Carrera 2 coupé, 78,000 euro for the Carrera 2 Cabrio and the Carrera 2S Coupé, and hitting 88,000 euro for the Carrera 2S Cabrio. As per tradition, the all wheel drive versions will follow after a few months.
