It seems like Lexus is about to make a revolutionary change to the look of its IS saloon. The future 2014 model will sport a new more aggressive outline, especially in the front, with further stylistic updates dictated by the brand’s current design, which characterises the style of the cars found in the range.
According to the Australian site Drive, the 2014 Lexus IS will integrate the new “spindle” grille making it a peculiar and distinctive part of the front, as well as changing the profile of the car to make it more appealing. The new IS will be wider in size and more aggressive, both in looks and in terms of driving, as the Japanese carmaker should revise its powertrain and chassis, as well as offering a refurbished interior.
We previously heard a few rumours, which are yet to be confirmed, about the 2014 model sharing a stretched version of the Toyota GT 86 platform, specifically modified to accommodate the larger body of the Lexus. The future lineup of the new IS may include a Coupé, a Convertible and an Estate version, equipped with a range of four and six-cylinder engines, in addition to a possible hybrid variant.
