Website v12vantageroadster released some images of the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster, the convertible version of the well-known sporty coupe from the British carmaker that will share the same engine-transmission package with its hard top counterpart.
That engine is the notorious 6.0-litre V12 credited with an output of 517 hp with 570 Nm of peak torque, which is coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. From an aesthetic point of view, the model comes with the same stylistic elements that we have already appreciated with the coupe version: hence we got plenty of carbon fibre bits, newly designed bumpers and several peculiar elements for the interior that contribute to make the car look more sporty.
The V12 Vantage Roadster is obviously characterized by the absence of the roof, which got replaced by a power retractable fabric roof. The engineers of the Gaydon-based manufacturer have also introduced the appropriate modification to preserve the trademark driving accuracy of the model, which got affected by the lower structural rigidity of this body-type. The overall weight of the car is understandably higher than the coupe variant, which weighed in at 1,680 kg. The Roadster (or Vantage, if you like) will be produced in 101 units from the end of 2012.
