Who knows what Wendelin Wiedeking, president of Porsche, thinks of Ratan Tata’s offer for F-Type production, sports model set to rejuvenate the diabolic E-Type. Porsche’s head has said in an interview with Road and Track that “if the English manufacturer proceeds with the F-Type development, the Boxster could start with a rival series.”
The next Jaguar could profit from the alluminium suspension of the XK and the shortened base of the XF, to give life to a smaller and more agile two-door: the adversary would be the Boxster, leaving the 911 to the XK.
The engine will likely be the V6 at 235 hp, and will necessarily receive an injection of horse power to compete with the German boxer.
