In the second half of 2012 Kia will introduce in its range the revamped new version of the Sorento, a generous-sized SUV that benefits from some improvements to the bodywork as well as some technical enhancement. Actually, the Korean engineers have been working a lot on what is under the skin, revisiting much of the chassis and introducing various refinements to the engine, while the overall mass of the model should also be reduced by about 1 ton. From an aesthetic point of view, the main interventions are the same ones we have reported when we saw the latest spy shots of the model: the taillights now have an horizontal layout, while the new headlamps have the fog lights placed in a new housing.
The designers have also updated both bumpers, added LED elements and provided the model witha pretty unusual set of 19″ alloy wheels. The passenger compartment is characterized by the 7″ screen through which the driver can control the multimedia system, by the modern materials and finishing and by the leather cover of the gearbox lever. The standard equipment of the new Sorento will also include more safety devices, which should make for features an improved ride quality and better handling. The facelifted Kia Sorento will continue to be offered in 5- and 7-seats configurations.
