0 Comments from ReadersBMW has released new images and information about the new luxury version of the i3 Concept, which has been specifically created to celebrate the London Olympics. BMW will be opening its first worldwide i Store on Park Lane, in conjunction with the Olympic Games, of which it is one of the main sponsors.
The BMW i3 features new seats covered in leather tanned using olive tree extracts instead of conventional chemical products and natural fibre and premium wood, such as fine Eucalyptus root, for its trimmings: sensible choice to promote eco-sustainability.
The car is powered by an electric motor producing an output of 170 hp and 230 Nm of maximum torque, with a 0 to 100 Km/h sprint time covered in less than 8 seconds and a top speed of around 150 km/h (93 mph). The range is expected to be between 130 and 160 km (80 – 100 mph), depending on usage. The lithium-ion batteries can be charged in around 6 hours via a standard socket, or one hour through a quick charger.
