Aston Martin has released a new teaser video of the Project AM310, car unveiled at the last Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance in the Concept Car category. It appears that the Aston Martin AM310 should be entering production with the name Aston Martin Vanquish and will display the lines of the car featured in our exclusive pics, taken a few days ago by two readers of our parent-site Autoblog.it.
The mid-mounted V12 engined AM310, which will be replacing both the DB9 and DBS, appears as a very gritty and aggressive sports car with a racing attitude highlighted by the style of its aerodynamic cues. Despite using the same 6.0-litre V12 engine and the same VH chassis as nearly every vehicles of the range, the Aston Martin AM310 is an entirely new car, with 75% of its components being specially built for the model.
The V12 unit has been modified to produce 573 hp, 97 hp more than the DB9 and 63 hp more than the DBS. The AM310 Project will be much lighter than the models it will replace, thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre and light-weight materials that improve handling as well as performance.
