0 Comments from ReadersAlpina presents the new B7 facelift, the sports version of the new petrol-engined BMW 7-Series. The new Alpina B7 gets an aesthetic and technological restyle, previously introduced by the BMW 7-Series model year 2012, and also an improved powertrain, to further enhance its performance and to increase its power.
The 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine with direct injection has been updated and now features 40 hp of output and 30 Nm of torque more, for a total of 540 hp and 730 Nm. Alpina’s engineers have also installed a new eight-speed gearbox that replaces the previous six-speed automatic transmission, which makes the car more efficient, dynamic and very enjoyable to drive.
Thanks to the mechanical improvements top speed is now 312 km/h (194 mph), compared to the 282 Km/h (175 mph) of the previous version. Acceleration from 0 to 100 Km/h is covered in less than 4.5 seconds. The Alpina B7 comes with short and long wheelbase, with optional X-drive and features more than 30 exterior modifications, such as new rear spoiler, new body paintwork and restyled front and rear bumpers. It also sports new 21-inch 20-spoke wheels and a new luxury interior decor.
