Transatlantic flights of fancy on a Ferrari V10

posted: Friday 18 November 2005 by Luca in: Ferrari

Ferrari V10 F1 2003Autoweek writes about a supposed future Ferrari V10, 5.4 liters, based on the 90° architecture of the beautiful F430. With the same specific power, it might output 610 hp.

Not that it would be a bad engine, but I am plenty sceptic: V10s are passè in Formula 1, Enzo had no truck with them, V8s and V12s have always been loved by Ferrari and have given back plenty of loving. In fact, the next iteration of the Ferrari V12, on the F600, should output between 590 and 625 hp. Last but not least, ItaliaSpeed didn’t write about it, and the insiders on bene informati su Autopareri said “bulls**it”. Enough for me.
