This video shows the BMW M3, which will take part in the 2012 season of the Deutsche Touring Car Masters, better known as DTM. Based on the standard model, this show car was built by M Performance Accessories.
The official racing livery has been inspired by the vehicle that, towards the end of the eighties, started off exciting battles with the Mercedes 190, winning the championship in 1989 with the M3 E30 driven by Roberto Ravaglia.
A few months ago, simultaneously with the announcement of BMW comeback in the German Touring Car Championship, the rival Audi had released the first reconstructions of the DTM A5 (known as R17), the car that will replace the A4 DTM winner of four titles in the last seven years. The German Coupe will use a 4.0-litre V8 engine with around 460hp and will have a carbon fibre monocoque.
