0 Comments from ReadersThe new SRT Viper has just been unveiled at the 2012 New York International Auto Show and it is already the car of the hour. Following the leaks and the official photo gallery, it’s now the turn of a 7-minute long official video that finally show us the model in action on the road.
We have thoroughly discussed this model in our previous post (also inclusive of the official press release) but let’s just point out that the model is powered by a frightening 8.4-litre V10 delivering 649 ho and 815 Nm of maximum torque, making it the American sportscar with the best power-to-weight ratio ever.
The chassis of the new SRT Viper has a torsional stiffness that is 50% better than the previous generation, while the overall waight has gone down by 45 kg. One of the most evident new feature is the X trellis placed over the engine and linked to the suspension: this move enhances the overall rigidity of the whole structure and makes the suspension itself work better.
