After the relatively quiet debut at the Geneva show, Renault is revealing new technical data and photos of its Laguna Gt, all-wheel steering version that has already been ordered by more than 50,000 customers across Europe.
The model’s main innovation is the 4 Wheel Steering system called “Active Drive“, looking for new life after years being in the dark: up to 60km/hr the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front ones with a maximum angle of 3.5°.
The main advantage is contained in the smaller steering diameter, less than 10% compared to a traditional car: although it has 18-inch alloys, you can do inversions in only 10.8 metres (the same as a Clio) in place of the previous 12.05. The increase in handling and the more precise steering, symbol of a more fulfilling driving experience, are the advantages of this technical solution.
the engine range is comprised of two units, borrowed and adapted to the more sport spirit of this version: a 2.0 turbo petrol of 205hp, and the 2.0 diesel at 180hp assure good performance (acceleration of 0-100 km/h in eight seconds for the first and 8.5 for the dCi) with moderate comsumption and emissions lower than 200g/km for both. The car will be available from summer.
