For what we can remember there are few models in recent years that made people wait (and spy) for so long before even a veiled official confermation arrived. We’re obviously referring to the baby Ferrari that will be revealed at the Paris show (as we anticipated in February) that for a while has been sighted, denied and hypothesized.
This time the photographs from TheCarConnection have hit on two prototypes that were being tested on the Fiorano track on Saturday. Unfortunately the disguises are more closely guarded than ever and apart from the long nose they leave little to hint at the car’s style.
There is some news however about the name: it looks as though the choice of “Dino” has been positively abandoned in favour of GT420 or GT470. The new smaller version will have a rear engine based on the Maserati GranTurismo trimmed down to one of two V8 Maserati’s, the 4.2 and the 4.7 that will equip the 8C Competizione and the GranTurismo S.
