2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe at the 2012 NAIAS

Hyundai has chosen the 2012 NAIAS to introduce its the restyled Genesis Coupe to the world. The model boasts a refreshed, more aggressive exterior featuring newly designed front and rear bumper (the latter with integrated diffuser), grille, headlight, fog light and hood as well as LED technology for both ends of the car. The model will take on the market with two engine options: a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 274 hp with 373 Nm (275 ft-lb) of peak torque, a 3.8-liter V6 with direct-injection delivering 348 hp and 400 Nm (295 ft-lb) of torque, capable of pushing the new Genesis Coupe from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 5 seconds with a limited top speed of 250 km7h (155 mph). Both units can be coupled to a 8-speed automatic transmission or the classic 6-speed manual gearbox. The model comes with Hyunday’s own Blue Link telematic platform, which provides it with a variety of infotainment services to meet any connectivity needs.

DETROIT, Jan. 9, 2012– Hyundai Motor America today introduced the significantly redesigned 2013 Genesis Coupe in a North American debut at the Detroit North American International Auto Show. In keeping with impressive performance upgrades, Genesis Coupe now sports more aggressive coupe styling, complemented by improved interior materials and design. Both 4-cylinder and V6 engines benefit from significant technology enhancements, with the 3.8-liter V6 engine receiving sophisticated direct-injection technology and the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine upgrading to a more precise twin-scroll turbocharger and larger intercooler. Automatic transmissions for these two models now have 8-speeds, with paddle-shift SHIFTRONIC® manual-shifting capability. Hyundai’s proprietary telematics platform, Blue Link®, is now available, providing Genesis Coupe owners with a variety of infotainment services to meet their individual connectivity needs.
