Italian carmaker F&M (Faralli & Mazzanti) presents the Evantra, a new supercar previously known as “Mugello” that has changed moniker right before the official presentation of the final version, opting for the name of the Etruscan goddess of immortality.
F&M Evantra measures 4.32 meters in length, 1.95 meters in width and 1.22 in height, and uses a lightweight steel frame. The model will be available with two different types of bodywork: the one called PRO-BODY uses composite materials, and will provide the car with an overall weight of 1,200 kg whereas the one called ONE-BODY uses handcrafted aluminum that can be customized in shape by the client, making resulting the car a proper one-off. Also pretty peculiar is the way the doors open and the layout of both head and tail lights.
The Evantra comes with a 3.5-litre 6-cylinder engine that will be made available in two configurations: the naturally aspirated one develops 403 hp while the twin-turbo produces 603 hp. At the moment, the only performance figure released by the car maker is the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of the PRO-BODY twin-turbo model, claimed to be 3.7 seconds. F&M said they will produce at least 5 units a year, with the first model expected to surface in mid-2012.
