Swiss entrepreneur Ueli Anliker has decided to sell his exclusive Anliker Mercedes McLaren SLR 999 Red Gold Dream, which is arguably the most expensive car currently on the market and on of the most crazy, bold and excessive tunings we have ever seen. This special model is based on a ’simple’ Mercedes SLR 722, which comes with a standard 5.5-litre V8 engine delivering 640 hp. The Red Gold Dream instead has an output of 999 hp, which allows it to reach a top speed of 338 km/h (210 mph).

The bodywork of this jaw-dropping model uses 25 layers of red paint and 5 kg of gold: wheels, headlights and door sills are covered with 24 carat gold while in the cabin there are 600 rubies worth 350,000 € (roughly 300,000£ - 470,000$) as well as jewelled indicators, gold-trimmed interior and steering wheel and ruby-covered switchgear. The whole operation required 30,000 hours of labour and costed Mr.Anliker something like 4.1 million € (about 3.5 millon £ - 5.47 million $). These figures also explains why he has put a 8.2 million € price tag (10.8 million $ - 7 million £) on his ultra-expensive toy.
