Not even founder Jerod Shelby himself saw that coming. Actually, he reportedly said that the presence of SSC (Shelby Super Cars) at the Dubai Motor Show was a mere commercial move and he was not thinking about finding a distributor or anything like that. Well, the American entrepreneur can be very happy then because the carmaker managed to sell no less than 10 Tuatara, each one priced at 1.3 million $, for a grand total of 13 million bucks.

SSC Tuatara was designed by Jason Castriota and is powered by a twin turbo 7-litre V8 delivering 1,350 hp and a maximum torque of 1,411 Nm (1,042 ft/lbs) at 6,800 rpm, redlining at 9,200 rpm. The car weights 1247 kg (2,750 lbs), goes from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.5 secs and has a projected top speed of 276 mph (444 km/h). The car also comes with coupled to a 7-speed manual or automatic transmission (with triple disc carbon clutch), 192 alloys at the front an 20″ at the rear, vented carbo-ceramic discs (with 8piston calipers at the front and 6-pistons calipers at the back), body and frame made of carbon fibre, air conditioning, cab-controlled front air lift, 10 speaker premium CD/DVD system with 7.5″ screen, rearview camera and sat-nav.
