Not too long ago, radio-controlled model cars producer Traxxas teamed with leading electronic speed controls manufacturer Castle Creations with their minds set on one goal: creating the world’s fastest radio-controlled model car with a top speed in excess of 100 mph (160 km/h), and the outcome of that project has finally arrived: meet the jaw-dropping Traxxas X0-1.

As producer Traxxas simply puts it, with astonishing performance figures such as a 0-60 mph sprint time of 2.3 seconds and - especially - 0-100 mph in an unbelievable 4.92 seconds, the XO-1 is the world’s fastest ready-to-race radio controlled supercar. This little masterpiece is pushed by an electric engine with Traxxas Power Cell 3S 5000 mAh LiPo batteries, is a four wheel drive and boasts an extremely elaborated chassis, featuring heavy duty drivetrain, specifically designed suspension and computer-optimized aerodynamics.

Also quite impressive is its remote control, equipped with a specific docking base for iPhone® or iPod touch® which would turn it into a powerful tuning tool. All you need to do is downloading the dedicated Traxxas app: the device would show you a full color graphical user interface by which you can set up the XO-1 as you want and save it as a profile. Then all your own tuning programs can be restored and used later, or be used on other Traxxas models, or shared with friends and so on. Traxxas X0-1 is already on sale at 1.099 $ (about 813€ - 700£). Almost needless to say, this 100+ mph out of the box marvel is not a toy: it is intended for use by experts only. To find out more about it, check out the official website.
