Superbus - a.k.a the bus of the future a.k.a. the biggest sportscar in the world a.k.a. the fastest limo of the planet - went to visit the nice and quiet Dutch city of Groningen just a few days ago, and here’s a video documenting the event. Understandably, it made all heads turn.

This interesting all-electric vehicle uses a ultra light carbon fibre frame and boasts some quite impressive figure: it is 15 meters long, can accommodate 23 seated passengers, has a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), 16 gull-wing doors and zero CO2 emissions. The project is being developed jointly with the University of Technology of Delft and the support from the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment, with the goal of creating an environmentally sustainable mean of transportation that can take a quite significant amount of people from point A to point B with no changeovers: practical like a coach but comfortable like a luxury sedan. And it has internet connection, TV, air conditioning etc.

The Superbus represents an innovative alternative for today’s personal mobility, but at this moment it is still undergoing testing. Rumor has it that the model might actually be launched in 2015, but no official confirmation on the matter has been released so far. Its team of developers is headed by AeroSpace expert and former astronaut Mr. Wubbo Ockels, former BMW-Williams Formula 1 chief aerodynamicist Mrs. Antonia Terzi and Aerospace engineer and designer Mr. Joris Melkert.
