Mahindra will officially unveil the XUV500 for the European market at the 2011 Bologna Motor Show (December 3-11). The new SUV from the Indian manufacturer is expected to represent a huge step forward for the carmaker, with a number of innovative solutions. The XUV500 will be powered by a 2.2 litres diesel engine courtesy of Hawk - with an output of 140 hp and 330 Nm - coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The model will come with switchable four wheel drive, alloy wheels, parking sensors and will also feature as standard equipment 6 airbags, automatic climate control, keyless go, stability control and LED daylights. In the cabin we will find leather upholstery, a modern touch screen infotainment system and a third row of seats that will allow the XUV500 to accommodate up to 7 people, driver included . Mahindra did not reveal the price for Europe, but in India the XUV500 costs between 16,000 and 19,000 €: we will see whether the car will be that affordable abroad too.
