Toyota Motor Corporation is teaming up with multinational semiconductor chip maker Intel Corporation to develop a new generation of in-vehicle infotainment systems. The collaboration is specifically focused on connecting mobile devices with the car and to develop a user interaction methodology that will include touch, gestures and voice. Intel says that the company has been researching vehicle connectivity for years now, and that it hopes the new partnership with Toyota will produce more seamless smart phone integration.
