Nissan GT-R MY 2012: prime info ufficiali

The first official info and images of the 2012 Nissan GT-R are now available. The eagerly awaited new version of the Japanese supercar will be once again more powerful than its predecessor as the work done under the bonnet will give its amazing 3.8-litre Twin Turbo V6 an extra 20 hp to play with (going from the 530 hp of the previous model to 550 hp) as well as 20 Nm more of peak torque (going from 612 to 632 Nm) that will be available between 3200 and 5800 rpm. However, even though the power has been increased, the fuel consumption went down from 12 to 11.8 l/100 km.

The already ultra-efficient transmission has been upgraded as well and is now smoother and less noisy, while the limited slip differential are now lubricated with a high performance lube oil. The frame is stiffer than the old one, in order to better manage the power and improve the handling. In the cabin we have a performance-data display on the center LCD screen, Bose audio system, new instrument panel with blue lighting and - finally - a gear indicator.

The new GT-R range will also feature a “Track Pack” version, with only two seats, which has been specifically designed for the track. This model will boast even more sporty settings (based on the V-Spec version), a specific brake cooling system, alloy wheels and a special lip-spoiler. However, the GT-R Track Pack will be available in Japan, United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa only. The ‘normal’ Model Year 2012 will be available in Japan at the end of this month and will hit the European markets in January.
