Just a few days ago we told you about the water-mouthering Peugeot 308R Concept, the over-the-top variant of the brand new Peugeot 308 range that will be showcased at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show together with the new 308 line-up, and here is a new official video telling us more about the much anticipated C-segment hacthback of the French carmaker, that was virtually introduced back in May.
The new Peugeot 308 measures 4.25 metres in length and 1.46 meters in height, and boasts a spacious interior and a particularly large boot with 470 litres of capacity below the shelf. Due to its its well balanced proportions, its reduced weight (-140 kg in the comparison with the outgoing model) and a bodywork closely following the mechanical components, the new 308 aims to be one of the most compact models of its segment.
Design-wise, definitely worth mentioning are the slim full-LED headlamps - standard on the upper trim levels - and the three Peugeot ‘claws’, drawn by the rear LED lamps. As for the interior, it will come with an innovative instruments and controls configuration called i-cockpit and featuring a large 9.7″ touch screen. Still nothing sure about the engine range. Production will take place at the PSA facility in Sochaux, France, and is expected to go on sale in Europe this fall right after its official unveiling in Germany.
