Lamborghini Estoque

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann had promised that a final decision on which kind of car to produce alongside the Gallardo e the Aventador would have been taken toward the end of 2011. Now that the deadline is approaching, it seems likely that the this third model will be a SUV, which is believed to be more appealing to the public than a new saloon car based on the Estoque prototype (pictured), presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2008. A further confirmation comes form Lamborghini’s Asia-Pacific chief Christian Mastra, who said that even though Lamborghini did not do any survey among its customers, markets seem to suggest a SUV as the most viable option.

According to Mastra, having produced the LM002 model in the past provides the brand with heritage and credibility in this segment. Lamborghini’s goal is to produce a four wheel drive car that can be used on a daily basis, not only in the weekend, powered by turbocharged engines that will not be used for Lambo’s supercars.
