Jaguar is getting sexier and more sophisticated as it goes along and we really hope that these kinds of models come off for the British company with its illustrious past. This Jaguar C-X16 concept will debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show next week and is set to be a new rival to the Porsche Cayman (and perhaps the 911 at a stretch).
The C-X16 is a two-seater coupé with a three-litre V6 producing 376 hp and 450 Nm of torque. It is almost a hybrid affair, with the eight-speed gearbox housing an electric motor which gives another 92 hp and 235 Nm of torque. It’s controlled by a “Push to Pass” button on the steering wheel which gives Jaguar’s supercharged technology an added kick, and is supplied by a 1.6 kW battery pack behind the seats..
Jaguar has decided to release the performance figures of the C-X16 Concept saying it reaches 100 km/hr in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km/hr. If that weren’t impressive enough, the Kers-like system this coupé produces 165 g/km of CO2 emissions and can do up to 80 km/hr on electric power alone. Video and more pics of the C-X16 after the jump.
