As news recently hit the web that Volvo wants to be among the world’s luxury car manufacturers, the company will take this new Volvo Concept You to the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The concept is based on Volvo’s new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) which was used on the Universe concept seen at Shanghai.

The models look to have a lot in common with this Concept You prototype showing a similar front end. We’re assuming that both at this stage are forerunners to the future Volvo S80 flagship sedan, which will be a fundamental model if the company is to join the luxury race.

The Concept You also introduces new technologies that we will see on upcoming production cars from Volvo, including a new smaller cylinder engine range. New refined finishes and a closer attention to detail on the inside should also herald updates for future Volvo interior trims.
