Nissan has begun taking orders for the Micra Nismo, that will go on sale in December at Nissan dealers nationwide in Japan and will be offered in two grades: the ‘basic’ Micra Nismo and the ‘S’ variant. The former will come with the usual 1.2-liter gasoline engine producing 116 horsepower and 156 Nm of peak torque and coupled to an Xtronic CVT gearbox, while the ‘S’ will be powered by a specially-tuned 1.5-liter unit producing a total of 153 horsepower and 206 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The body kit for the Nismo-enhanced Micra (a.k.a. March in certain markets) include a front bumper with the edge of the center part of the front spoiler raised to generate downforce, a rear bumper with an optimized shape that reduces air resistance, new front grille, side sill protectors, special fender molding at both ends, red exterior mirrors and LED daytime running lights. Nissan will offer three exterior color options: Pure Black, Brilliant Silver and Brilliant White Pearl.
The passenger compartment will by enriched with an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, new speedometer, bucket seats, custom shift knob, piano black trim and special pedals. The Nissan March Nismo S will also come with a specifically developed exhaust system, customized suspension, special brake system and faster gear changes. We can only hope they will eventually decide to ship some of those spicy Micras over here as well.
