The official press conference for the presentation of the new Mercedes C-Class will be this evening from 7.00 to 7.40 (CET) live on the Internet from Stuttgart, but the february issue of Automobilismo was out this morning with the official photos, of which we publish some scans.
The big news, compared to the previous C-Class, is the exterior, very much inspired on the S-Class. The size of the new C-Class has grown quite a bit: +5.5 cm in length, +4.2 cm in width, +4.5 cm in wheelbase.

The gasoline versions start with the 4 cylinder engines of the C180 Kompressor (up from 143 ps/220 Nm to 156 cv/229 Nm, with an average fuel consumption down by 0,3 l/100 km) and of the C200 Kompressor (from 163 ps to 184 ps/250 Nm, -0,5 l/100 km). The V6 engines have the same power output as the previous model: C230 (204 ps), C280 (231 ps) e C350 (272 ps).
As for the diesel versions, the 4 cylinder engines will be on the C200 CDI (from 122 to 136 ps) and the C220 CDI (from 150 to 170 cv), both with an average fuel consumption down by 0,5 l/100 km. The 3.0-liter V6 engine with 224 ps is the same engine already seen on other models in the Mercedes-Benz range.
All models will be equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, excepting for the C350 which will feature the 7 speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission (optional on other V6 models).
The C-Class will feature a couple of packages that improve road handling and driving pleasure, the Agility Control system (better suspensions, more direct steering) and Advanced Agility, with electronically controlled suspensions with two settings (Sport and Control), variable-action power steering and speedier response to the gas pedal and a sportier control logic for the automatic transmission.
There will be an AMG Sports Package and, later, a C63 AMG version.
