We’ve got all the details and pics of the new Mercedes B-Class and here it is in video for us. Up until now, we’ve discussed the new front-wheel drive platform, revamped interior and larger size, but we haven’t really looked at whether the design will actually appeal.

It’s often an aspect overlooked when it comes to compact MPVs because they are, by nature, practical vehicles not really intended to be beautiful. The new Opel Meriva stepped things up a little in the design department, adding its book-hinged doors for a novelty, but we’ve got to admit that the new Mercedes B-Class is quite attractive for this segment.

What’s more, the new B-Class fits nicely into the Mercedes family right now, too. We would have said that the MPV segment was an unlikely one for a little extra competition, but the new B-Class could provide just that. Four engines are available at launch date, with two petrol and two diesels, and a six-speed manual is on offer, or an option 7G-DTC gearbox.
