Mercedes-Benz has released a new video featuring its awesome A 45 AMG - the most performing A-Class variant there is - taking on the famous Italian race track of Imola, which has been hosting Formula 1 and MotoGP events for many years. The man behind the wheel in this video is Lance David Arnold, driver and instructor at the AMG Driving Academy, who provides a few tips on how to get the best out of the most powerful 4-cylinder production car out there.
The all-wheel drive Mercedes A 45 AMG is pushed by a 2.0-liter turbocharged unit producing 360 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 450 Nm of maximum torque between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm. This enegine allows it to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). All that power is conveyed to the four corners of the car through the already-known AMG Spees Shift DCT 7-speed sports transmission featuring three driving programmes, a double-declutching function and also the ‘Race Start’ function for optimum acceleration.
Numerous individualisation options are available for the A 45 AMG, such as the AMG Aerodynamics package (AMG rear aerofoil, additional flics in front apron and larger front splitter), AMG carbon-fibre exterior mirror housing, AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels fitted with 235/35 R 19 tyres, AMG Performance exhaust system with tailpipe trims in specific design, AMG Performance suspension with tauter spring/damper tuning and so forth.
