The two Aston Martin V12 Zagato models competing at this weekend’s 24 hour Nurburgring race are called Zig and Zag. Zig is the green model we’ve seen before, and this hot red-and-white Zag is being driven by Aston CEO Ulrich Bez, along with the Aston Martin test centre director and European journalists Horst Von Saurma and Matthew Marsh.
While the Aston Martin V12 Zagato won the design award at the 2011 Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza, the 24 hours Nurburgring should show that there is substance to its good looks. It will join an Aston racing tradition at the Ring, following previous models that have competed like the V8 Vantage, V12 Vantage and Rapide.
