The Bugatti Galibier flagship is set to debut this year and could run to a production of 3,000 vehicles according to rumours from Autoblog.nl. The Dutch site is not entirely clear on its final source, and so we say ‘rumours’ to avoid getting carried away with a word like ‘reports’. If the Galibier is to be launched this year, two events are possible - either Pebble Beach or the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. The former is probably more its scene, though.

Further whisperings also indicate that the Bugatti Galibier could be called the Royale, thus using one of automotive history’s most famous names. The same eight-litre W12 engine from the Veyron could be used, modified to produce 850 hp, and it seems this sudden announcement of the Galibier could be due to the fact that Veyron production will cease this year.
