One thing we love about the new Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster is that it proves that the coupé model isn’t just about a gimmicky design feature like gullwing doors. Don’t get us wrong - we love them, impractical as they are, but if you were to buy an SLS AMG, it is the whole package. The Roadster keeps all of that and drops its top in the meantime.

In this high quality production video, we see the new Roadster out on the track where all the beatiful design features and commonalities with the coupé can be seen. Of course, we wouldn’t mind actually driving it just so we know for sure that it is a lightweight, fast, performance machine. But for the moment, we’ll happily believe what Mercedes tells us on that front. The SLS AMG Roadster will be available to order in Europe from June, at a price of about €195,160.
