Is this the new Lancia Delta HPE ?

On the 5th of September Lancia will be announcing its future plans at the Biennale del Cinema di Venezia. And, according to the Autoinsight blog, it will be showing a concept car that anticipates the new Lancia Delta HPE.
The picture above might be a photoshop, but it’s fairly plausible. The Lancia Delta HPE should be based on a stretched Fiat Bravo platform and it should be about 4.50 meters long. The engines should include three turbo-charged gasoline engines (1.4 Turbo with 120 and 150 ps, 1.8 Turbo with 190 ps) and two turbo-diesel engines (1.6 with 120 ps and 2.0 with 165 ps).
The new Delta should be on the market by the second half of 2008. We should know more by next tuesday.

Volgens autoinsight.it wel, maar we houden een slag om de arm. Officieel moeten we nog een weekje wachten want zoals we al eerder konden melden zal de nieuwe Delta conceptcar op 5 september onthuld worden in Venetië.

13 Nov 2006 - 20:12 - #3well, in my opinion (and in everyone’s opinion, I guess) the new Delta is essencial to revitalize Lancia’s commercial performance, but more important to revitalyze Lancia’s image. Let’s be honest: how many years we don’t see an intersting new Lancia on the roads? Lancia is a car manufacturer with an amazing story and amazing cars: Lambda, Appia, Flaminia, Aurelia, Fulvia, Stratos, Delta… you name it! They even had good trucks (the Essadelta and Essagamma)! Obviously the new Delta will be served with the mechanical components of the new Fiat Bravo. That’s not bad, that’s smart and quite logical. Which is a good thing, because Fiat is rising from hell again whith new good products and, in my opinion, good cars. But the new Delta has got to have more than that. It has to be a good drive, with fine quality and design. But what I see is scaring me… The new images resemble to a new piece of german steel. Please Lancia, give the new Delta some ATTITUDE!
