The Alfa Romeo 4C Concept has appeared on the company’s website, and it’s probably to gauge just how much interest there is in an Alfa 4C production version. The 4C website pages show the car from all angles and describes the design process and purpose of this new Alfa sports car.
Apart from the general marketing speak, the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept was designed on a rear-wheel drive coupĂ© formula, using inspiration from the 8C Competizione and Spider models. The model is equipped with the four-cylinder 1750 engine with more than 200 hp, and has Alfa’s new TCT dual dry clutch.
No further news about eventual production of the Alfa Romeo 4C Concept is available, but we’re thinking that this is the model the brand has been waiting for. To revive tradition and bring back the Alfa brand, the company really needs a viable sports car in the mix. And if it does things right, the 4C could provide just that. If this doesn’t make it to production, we get the sinking feeling that the Alfa brand might finally lose all relevance. After all, does Europe really need another hatchback?
