The Aston Martin Virage CoupĂ© and Virage Volante are at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, along with the Aston Martin Vantage S. Checking out this stand live at Geneva is an exercise in beauty and we’ll come out and say that Aston Martin produces some of the loveliest automobiles in the world.
Anyway, getting focused: the Virage models are designed to place themselves between the DB9 and the DBS in the Aston range. They are both made from a VH aluminium platform and are equipped with the six-litre V12 engine unit which produces 497 hp. Transmission is a “Touchtronic 2″ automatic gearbox and Aston is using a transaxle set-up to balance the weight.
The Aston Martin Virage has a top speed of 300 km/hr and can reach 100 km/hr in 4.5 seconds. Other technological features included are a new Adaptive Damping System (ADS) and Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes with six and four pistons, front and rear.
The Aston Martin Vantage S has been inspired by the style of the V12 Vantage and has a 4.7-litre V8 engine with 430 hp (ten more than the N420), and 490 Nm of torque. It has a new seven-speed Aston Sportshift gearbox which 20 percent faster and 24 kg lighter than the previous version. At the stand there is the Cygnet, the Rapide and some of Aston’s vintage models.
