These live pics from the Geneva Show reveal the Bertone B99 Jaguar-dedicated sedan concept. Both a road-going and competition-oriented B99 GT were taken to the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and while the concept had leaked before its unveiling, seeing in this flesh shows what a lovely and intriguing model it is.

The models celebrate 99 years of Bertone design, and in the presentation the mechanics of the B99 were revealed. It runs off an EREV electric system with an endothermic engine and range extender of 170 hp. Two electric motors at the rear complete the set-up with a total of 570 hp. Range is measured at about 700 km, with an average of about 30 g/km. The vehicle can run for about 100 km in electric mode.

There is no other news associated with this EREV system although it could be an example of the same technology that Jaguar is experimenting with on its own models. The Bertone B99 is a muscular sedan with a traditional rear end that departs from the coupé-look we see on most models today. It’s exaggeratedly long and low, and has flowing sides towards that almost vintage-like rear. The doors are hinged at opposite ends so we get a book-opening feature to get into and out of the car, and the interior focuses on a minimalist style with dark colours and quality finishes.

The Bertone B99 measures 4.5 metres long but it looks even longer thanks to the only 1.35 metres in height and width of 1.95 m (wheelbase is 2.8 m long). The bonnet features the classic Jaguar leaping cat which is no longer used on production model Jags and which contributes to the slight retro feel of this model. The competition B99 GT model was presented as an all-electric vehicle (four electric motors) with 980 hp. It’s a wider, more aerodynamic model at 2.5 metres wide and sits on 20-inch Pirelli competition tyres.
