Ferrari FF

The new Ferrari FF has been presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show to the general public and the next few days will reveal what people around the world think of this new and controversial FF. These live Geneva pics show the Ferrari FF rear end and other technological features that show how close it gets to a luxury sedan model.

The FF has a 6.3-litre V12 engine with 660 hp and 683 Nm of torque. It’s the second new V12 we’ve seen on a supercar at the Geneva show as the first revamped V12 unit is housed in the stunning Lamborghini Aventador. That model and this new Ferrari have very little in common in terms of traditional supercar measuring sticks so our comparisons will stop there; except to say that the FF will likely be remembered for its nudging of boundaries for Ferrari, while the Aventador is without a doubt a stunning new example of Italian supercar tradition.

Beyond just the engine performance, the FF is a good example of what we could consider a supercar shooting brake as it combines both impressive performance and some new, more ‘ecological’ technology (for a Ferrari). It has a HELE package which includes a Start&Stop system making for fuel consumption of 15.4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 360 g/km.

We got a look at the FF interior and apart from the four occupant set-up and boot capacity, Ferrari has invested in some of the technology and features you would expect to see on a luxury sedan. The entire dashboard has no less than three different screens: one functions as the instrument panel, the other is a centrally-mounted unit to control the infotainment system and the third is for the front passenger with trip information displayed. Our FF verdict? We’re still not sure….
