The new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 started the morning at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and these live Geneva pics show just what it meant to see something like this on day one. It is stunning and while we can’t say that it will run away with the show (the Pagani Huayra and Ferrari FF have yet to be presented), our Italian colleagues have described it as “bellissima”.
They’re not wrong. When the covers were lifted there was spontaneous applause and that’s saying something from jaded journalists who’ve seen many of these kinds of unveilings in the past.
There’s not much to add to the Aventador’s technical details from last night, but in trying to describe the emotion of those performance stastics, Stephan Winkelmann has likened the 0-100 sprint time of 2.9 seconds to bungee jumping or skydiving. We haven’t tried either but are inclined to believe him.
Obviously the first 12 months of Aventador production models are sold out, meaning the first privileged customers didn’t need any convincing that this is one special Lamborghini model. In these pics you can see all the details, including the new Aventador interior. The whole is definitely “bellissima”.
