Jaguar XKR-S

The Jaguar XK coupé will get a supersports version at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in the form of the Jaguar XKR-S. The new model houses a supercharged version of the 5.0-litre V8 engine, with power now up to 542 hp and about 680 Nm of torque.

Added to those figures the Jaguar XKR-S makes it to 100 km/hr in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km/hr. Those are the only details on the technical front, although a few modifications have been made to make this weapon easier to drive. There is stiffer front suspension and front and rear springs, wider rear tyres, a lowered height and new dampers to make steering more precise.

According to Autocar there is also a new exhaust system but it is being used for better sound, rather than to improve performance. Described as an Aston Martin competitor, Jaguar has really pulled out the big guns to compete in the premium supersports coupé segment, and we can expect a price tag to match.
