This first road video of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 shows the new V12 Lamborghini still camouflaged but with a distinct Lambo style that has been modernised for the occasion. The new car will be presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and is destined to be a hit as it marks a new era for the Italian supercar company.

The video is done in what we would like to call the “spy video style”, but we get to hear plenty of the engine and see a few interior shots as well, including close-ups of the new ISR gearbox. The new model looks like it takes some inspiration from the Gallardo with large front air intakes and spiky lines. It’s distanced itself from the Murcielago that while being described as the Murcielago replacement, it’s far more than that.

The Aventador LP700-4 has Lamborghini’s new 6.5-litre V12 engine which produces 700 hp and 690 Nm of torque. Apparently we could be looking at weight-power figures of about 3 kg/hp and when Lamborghini releases the official weight of the new Aventador, we’ll get a better idea of how this will compete, especially with the new McLaren MP4-12C and all its carbon-fibre.
