The Fiat 500 AWD model is being tested. The model should expand the 500 range futher, and certainly beyond some of the tuning and special editions, to a more technological advancement. The new Fiat 500 4WD should join the 500 Giardiniera wagon version as the two new models in the range.
In terms of technical developments the Fiat 500 TwinAir is probably the most significant we’ve seen so far, but an all-wheel drive version could make for a curious take on the pint-sized model. The 500 4WD will borrow the platform from the Panda 4×4, which is a (very) compact SUV whose platform could easily lend itself to a new interpretation.
This model was spotted by GMotors and shows a higher wheel base and different exhaust as it went through cold weather testing in Sweden. Could the Fiat 500 4WD become next winter season’s trendy ski car of choice…?
