The Polo GTI model is equipped with a 1.4-litre TSI engine with 180 hp, and the other possible models could get similar power increases and new engines designed to offer a broader and more attractive range.
The Polo GT could receive the 1.4 TSI engine with 150 hp and the Volkswagen DSG gearbox, in a move that would copy the Seat Ibiza line-up, which has both FR and Cupra offerings. The Polo GTD rather, could be equipped with a 1.6-litre engine with 130 hp. According to reports, the launch date could be sometime at the end of 2011, so it’s still early to say whether these models will happen, and if so exactly what their technical details will be.
