The Audi RS3 Sportback has been released as the lastest member of the Renn Sport family. The RS3 is based on the A3 Sportback model and has the same the TT RS engine: the five-cylinder, 2.5-litre turbo unit with 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The RS3 has Quattro four-wheel drive and an S-Tronic dual clutch, seven-speed transmission. This is the kind of family hatchback you’ll get if your kids aren’t afraid of how you drive - the RS3 reaches 100 km/hr in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/hr.
The car gets the usual sports finishes with a lowered base, 19-inch wheels with tyres measuring 235/35 at the front and 225/35 at the rear. Fuel consumption for such a sporty car is just 9.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions are at about 212 g/km. This is mostly given to the lightweight nature of the RS3, weighing just 1,575 kg. The brakes are plenty generous with 370 mm discs up front and 310 at the rear, and the ESP system with sports mode can be completely deactivated.
The RS look is characteristic with large air intakes, wider side skirts built from reinforced carbon fibre, aerodynamic finishes and a threatening rear exhaust with a silencer valve which can be opened for bigger sound when impressing friends or enemies at traffic lights, we’re guessing. The interior features Renn Sport badge and piano black and aluminium finishes. Sports leather seats are included with lighter seats available on request. There’s a sports steering wheel and the new display shows turbo pressure, oil temperature and revs. In Germany the Audi RS3 will have a starting price of 49,900 euros. Video after the jump.
