The highly anticipated Porsche 911 Speedster will feature at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and it will mark a big return for a model that was produced up until the 964 version in 1993 (which itself was based on the classic 356). The Speedster will complete the new models on the Porsche stand in Paris and will appear alongside the new Carrera GTS model. The 911 Speedster is just what the name suggests - an aerodynamic vehicle with a windshield lowered by 60 mm and an aerodynamic covering for the roof, which is strictly a manual affair.
The new car also has a further exterior aerodynamic kit with a widened rear and black plastic covering also used on the 4S model. The Carrera S however, is the basis for the Speedster model, with rear-wheel drive, a 408 hp engine which is the same as the Sport Classic and Carrera GTS models, PDK gearbox and autobloc differential. 19-inch wheels are part of the package, while we also get PASM electronic suspension control and carbon ceramic brakes.
The interior of the 911 Speedster features sports seats, accessories from the Porsche Exclusive line and trim that matches the exterior colour. The Pure Blue colour in these pics is exclusive to this version but the Speedster is also available in the classic Carrara White. Performance and weight haven’t been officially declared but we expect the Speedster to be lighter than the other Porsche cabriolets available. An initial run of 356 is planned, to be sold in December at a prices of about 202,000 euros.
