Top Gear - Porsche Boxster S vs BMW Z4M

Top Gear tests the BMW Z4 M and compares it with the Porsche Boxster S. The Z4M costs 5.000 € more than the Boxster S and it has 63 ps more.
The Z4 M is a car that doesn’t coddle the driver: according to Richard Hammond, “you have to grab it by the scruff of the neck and treat it like the beast it is”. He goes on: “and while the Boxster flatters your ego, this [la Z4M] thrills you in the most primeval way … the latest M cars were crammed full of technology … this is Fred Flintsone’s car … It absolutely steals your heart”.
In closing, the track and the Stig: the Z4 M Roadster beats even the Cayman S (compared to which it has a lower price). Now we are really curios about a comparo “Cayman S vs Z4 M Coupè” (which has an even lower price and should be even better on the track). Check out the video of Hammonds’ test.

04 Sep 2007 - 21:27 - #1Top Gear compared the Z4 M against the Porsche Boxster, but NOT the “S” version of the Boxster, wich has 50 more BHP and is 0.7 seconds faster 0-60! No claims were made that the Z4 M was faster or better than the Boxster S.

29 Jan 2008 - 14:31 - #2Listen carefully! It was the Boxter S, why else should the Z4M have 63 hp more. BMW: 343, Boxter S: 280!!! Despite from that Hammond prefered the Z4M!!!
