Just a few days ago we talked about the new Audi RS Q3, the first RS variant of a model belonging to the ‘Q’ series of the German manufacturer, and today we received the first official video starring the eagerly awaited new model, which will be introduced to the crowd ‘in-the-metal’ at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show (March 7-17).
Under the bonnet of the most sporty variant of the Audi Q3 will pulse the reliable 2.5-liter 5-cylinder TFSI unit with turbocharger and direct injection - producing a maximum power of 310 hp at 5,200-6,700 rpm with a peak torque of 420 Nm available between 1,500 and 5,200 rpm - that will allow the RS Q3 to go from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.5 seconds and reach a top speed that is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). Average fuel consumption is rated at 8.8 liters per 100 km with CO2 emissions of 206 grams per km.
Other highlights of the model include the standard seven-speed S tronic gearbox, Launch Control function, the well-known Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, RS sports suspension (that lowers the body of the compact SUV by 25 mm), electro-mechanical rack and pinion steering system and a braking system with 365 mm ventilated and perforated brake discs bitten by 8-piston calipers. Audi will unleash the RS Q3 will in the Germany next fall with a base price of € 54,600.
