Here’s yet another Fiat 500 special edition model to add to the list of the many we’ve already seen. We’re hoping that a second generation comes along soon to keep things going otherwise Fiat might find its retro revival a flash in the pan - albeit a big flash. The Fiat 500 Blackjack is a limited edition model with matt black paint: a paint job which Fiat describes as being reserved for more prestigious models.
The Fiat 500 Blackjack model will be available from September, and on the local Italian market it will cost 18,350 euros. When you consider that an Abarth 500 costs 18,500 euros that’s a lot of money for a black paint job. The 500 Blackjack can come equipped with almost any of the small car’s engines combined with five or six-speed manual transmission. There is no word on production numbers thus far but it will appear in the UK as well in what Fiat says is a special online campaign.
The Blackjack edition follows many other special editions already produced of the retro citycar model. Just yesterday we saw the Fiat 500 Sardinia, and others include the 500 by Diesel, the Fiat 500 Pink and the 500 Barbie, the Abarth 500 695 Tributo Ferrari, and the ‘Prima edizione’ model for the US market launch. Just to name a few.
