Many celebrities has sit their famous derrieres on the little Suzuki Liana employed by Top Gear’s team for their popular Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. As you all know the vehicle has quit its duty for show business personalities long time ago and since then has been taken out for a ride just by Formula One drivers past and present.
Lewis Hamilton was the latest driver to set a record in the little Suzuki, and what a record! The pilot, who recently left McLaren to join Mercedes has completed the Top Gear track in just 1m 42.9s, a second quicker than F1 three-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. Hamilton attempted to break the record back in 2007, but due to wet conditions he managed a time of 1m 44.7s.
Hamilton is now officially the fastest driver in the reasonably priced Suzuki Liana, but what are his chances at beating Red Bull driver Vettel this season? According to Jeremy Clarkson moving from McLaren to Mercedes was like moving from Manchester United to West Ham, but Hamilton is a risk taker and does like a challenge. We’ll stay tune to see how the 2008 champion will do this season, which is scheduled to begin on the 17th March 2013 in Australia.
